Paris (bus)

The bus services are improving in Paris (France): this month, 4 lines have had their operations extended in the evening and/or on Sunday.

Istanbul

Subway line M2 in Istanbul (Turkey) is now (apparently) running in a single stretch.

Paris (works)

The works on the RER A in Paris (France) will be going on for 2 more weeks, affecting services to Cergy and Poissy on week-ends and late evenings. Use our online update services or download the "temporary" files here:

Seoul

"Denny" informed us of the extension of the Jungang line in Seoul (Korea), with 3 new stations.

Nitra

P. Absolon reports a minor change on one bus line in Nitra (Slovakia).

México City

After a hint from J. Garcia, I added a new Metrobús line, which was inaugurated last month, to our database for México City (Mexico).

València

E. Descheres noticed two stations missing in our data for València (Spain). I also spotted a few typos as well as other errors.

Paris (works)

The disruptions of the week-end in Paris (France) have ended but the same changes will occur late night this week (RER A service will be replaced by a bus between Maisons-Laffitte & Poissy).

Barcelona

With help from E. Descheres, I discovered that the Trambesòs network in Barcelona (Spain) has been significantly extended last year. I also fixed a few errors and inconsistencies on other routes (missing and misnamed stations, wrong trip times, one additional funicular...)

Grenoble

S. Blanchard reports minor changes on the bus network in Grenoble (France).

Berlin (works)

Service on tram lines M13 & 50 in Berlin (Germany) will be back to normal tomorrow morning. At the same time, subway line U8 will start skipping station Jannowitzbrücke in direction Hermannstraße, for 3 months.

A new subway station has opened last month in Taipei (Taiwan).

Montréal

C.R. reports some changes on the timetables of the AMT (suburban railway) network in Montréal (Canada).

Eger

G.J. sent the information for the bus network in Eger (Hungary), a city famous for its wines...

Strasbourg

While fixing the stop coordinates - used in i-Métro - which were entirely wrong, I discovered a small bug in our database for Strasbourg (France).

Santo Domingo

With the opening of the Santo Domingo subway next month, I updated our database with the correct stop names.

Recife

A new station has opened on the "Linha Sul" in Recife (Brazil).

Buenos Aires

Two new stations have opened on subway line A in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Liechtenstein

P. Absolon (again!) reports some changes on the bus network in Liechtenstein.

Poprad

The transportation network in Poprad (Slvoakia) has been entirely redesigned. P. Absolon sent a new version of the data.

Miskolc

G. Jónás sent a complete update for the tram & bus network in Miskolc (Hungary).

Frankfurt am Main

P. Absolon reported changes that occured last month on the subway, tram and bus network in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

Paris

I found and fixed a few minor errors in our databases for Paris (France): a pair of missing stops on some bus routes and wrong connections to a handful of POIs.

Folder

I have discovered a bug in Folder, the PalmOS utility that automatically moves the MetrO files, among others, to the right place on your memory card after a hotsync. Consequently, I have released version 1.0.5.

New York (works)

The MTA has finally canceled all works on the New York (USA) subway network for the week-end. Download our new database here or with our online update services.

London

A new station (Woolwich Arsenal) opens today on the DLR network in London (United Kingdom).

Nantes

A new tram station has opened last Monday in Nantes (France).

Prague

F. Kadlec sent a few minor updates to our database for Prague (Czech Republic).

Berlin (works)

Tomorrow morning in Berlin (Germany), services on tram lines M13 & 50 will be unavailable on part of their routes, for one week.

Nice

Happy New Year!

2008 has ended and looking back at our wishes for the year, it looks like we did not achieve everything we wanted: while we finally built a version of MetrO for the Blackberry (and an update should arrive soon), the version for Symbian UIQ 3 has turned out to be challenging and we did not have time to deliver anything to help contributing to our data.

Now, 2009 has arrived and it will mark the 10th anniversary of MetrO, which was first released on a large scale on November 1st, 1999...

Our projects for the coming monthes are not very different from last year's: we'd like to (at last!) deliver a version of MetrO for the iPhone and, again, try to make contributing data much easier. We may also take a deeper look at Android... And, of course, we will go on updating our databases and building new ones...
