Banská Bystrica

P. Absolon has reported a few changes on the bus network of Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).

Paris (works)

Works on the RER D in Paris (France) have ended. The T4 tram line will be replaced by a bus service after 9PM next Wednesday and Thursday, while the RER E line will be replaced by a bus service between Noisy and Villiers sur Marne / Tournan after 11PM on Monday to Thursday evenings.

Subway line U5 in Berlin (Germany) runs a shuttle service between Alexanderplatz and Frankfurter Allee after 10PM every day except on Friday and Saturday evenings.

New York

The "Court Square" station on subway line 7 in New York (USA) will be closed from this morning to early April.

Infrastructure upgrade

With the ongoing success of MetrO, our web server has shown some weaknesses in the recent past (including a few complete service interruptions). We have then decided to upgrade our infrastructure and I am currently in the process of migrating all our web sites and services to our brand new server.

The change should be entirely transparent and, after several tests I made beforehand, I expect everything to go well. However, problems may happen... If you encounter any issue, please report it by mail at my address: "patrice [at] kinevia [dot] com".

Voytek suggested that I differentiate the local and express services on the Parramatta River Ferry line in Sydney (Australia).

Bratislava

P. Absolon report the opening of a new bus route (X13) in Bratislava (Slovakia).

Taipei

A new branch, with 7 stations, has opened last week on the orange metro line in Taipei (Taiwan).

Chongqing

Two new sections have opened on monorail line 3 in Chongqing (China), which now reaches the international airport.

Toulouse

M. Dulerm sent an update for the TER (regional railways) network around Toulouse (France), which has been affected by the major overhaul of the SNCF timetables last month.

A new section, comprising 3 stations, has opened on the Korail Bundang line in Seoul (Korea).

Happy New Year!

Another year has gone and MetrO is still alive. For example, in the past months, we have released versions of the app for Bada, Symbian QT and Android. And, of course, we have tried to improve our data for the transportation networks of many cities around the world (450 on last count).

For 2012, I hope to have more time to spend on developing the Android app, which is still in its early stages. The same is true, to a lesser degree, of the iPhone version.

We also have a wish: we would like more of you helping us keep our data up to date. The software has always been (for 12 years) a collective work and we need your contributions to keep it relevant!
