Shenzhen

The last changes of the month on the Shenzhen (China) metro occurred today, with the opening of long extensions on the Shekou (2) and Longgang (3) lines.

Wroclaw

G. Karpowicz reports some changes in Wroclaw (Poland), including temporary disruptions on the tram network due to roadworks.

Paris (works)

Services to/from Cergy and Poissy on the RER A in Paris (France) will be affected by works on Monday to Friday evenings.

Angers

A new tram line was inaugurated yesterday in Angers (France) and the bus network has been almost entirely reorganized in its wake.

In addition, I geocoded all the stops on the network, which will allow for route searches with street addresses (on some versions of MetrO) and to provide stop locations in i-MetrO for Layar.

Dublin

E. Dunne reported the opening next week of a new extension on the LUAS red line in Dublin (Ireland), along with a change on one of the bus routes included in our database.

Lima

I. Santamaria announces the re-opening in the coming days of the "Tren Urbano" in Lima (Peru), under the name of "Metro de Lima", with an extension to its single route.

Toulouse

M. Dulerm reported some changes on the bus network in Toulouse (France) and added the "Mobilib" (car-sharing) stations to our list of POIs.

New York

I just realized that I forgot to report some updates last Monday on long term works in New York (USA): line A services to Beach 36 and Beach 60 Sts have been fully restored, while Smith-9 Sts station (on lines F and G) is now closed for several months.

Our regular file has been updated with the changes.

Following a mail from M. Ciesielski, I have realized that I missed an important change in this morning update for Berlin (Germany). Actually, subway line U1 is also replaced by the temporary U12 line on most of its route until November.

Shenzhen

Apparently, a fifth metro line (Huanzhong Line) has just opened in Shenzhen (China).

Two new stations have opened in Singapore, on the North-East MRT ("Woodleigh") and the Punggol LRT ("Damai") lines.

Banská Bystrica

P. Absolon reported a few changes on the bus network of Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).

São Paulo

M. Luz noticed that our description of CPTM line 12 (Safira) in São Paulo (Brazil) missed 2 stations.

Berlin (works)

Additional works affect subway line U3 in Berlin (Germany) between Fehrbelliner Platz and Breitenbachplatz on Sunday to Thursday evenings.

Regensburg

B. Mirwald sent an additional line for the bus network of Regensburg (Germany) and I took the opportunity to complete our old database.

MetrO 5.9.5

Version 5.9.5 of MetrO has just been released, with 4 new cities and a number of updates for our existing databases.

In addition, MetrO for the Symbian^3 and S60v5 systems has been significantly improved and a beta version is now available for Maemo.

Toulon

Madrid (works)

The summer is almost here and, as every year, works will affect the metro services in Madrid (Spain). Beginning today, line 5 does not run between "Acacias" and "Marqués de Vadillo" and line 7 does not run between "La Rambla" and "Hospital del Henares".

MetrO for iPhone 0.9.7

A new version of MetrO for iPhone (0.9.7) has just been released, which adds translations of the interface in Spanish, Italian (thanks to P. Hernández) and Swedish (thanks to K.M. Karlsson and S. Varney).

Shenzhen

Beijing

Frank has geocoded most of the subway stations in Beijing (China), which will enable searching routes by address (and user position) on the iPhone and on i-MetrO.

Cape Town

L. Partridge assembled a new database for the MetroRail network of Cape Town (South Africa).

Bordeaux

While geocoding the stops on the recently added bus routes, I noticed (and fixed) a few errors in our database for Bordeaux (France).

Caracas

After adding the Metrobús routes to our database for Caracas (Venezuela), I. Santamaria fixed a few inaccuracies and provided the geographic coordinates for all stops, which will allow for address routing (on MetrO for iPhone, at the moment).

Rennes

R. Charpin began providing additional (suburban) bus routes for our Rennes (France) database.

New languages for MetrO on iPhone

Thanks to Patricio Hernández, MetrO for iPhone will soon be available in Spanish and Italian, in addition to the existing translations in English, French and German.

Because these days I try to spend as much time as I can on Android (I swear I make progress), I will not be able to add the remaining missing features to the iPhone version any time soon. Therefore, it makes sense to translate the program in its current state.

If you are interested in having the app in your own language (besides the 5 above), here is what you can do: download the strings file (it is plain text), translate the text it contains and send me the result (akaiv[at]yahoo[dot]fr).

I will submit the new version of the app to Apple on Sunday evening (Paris time). If you send me a translation before, it should make it in the coming release...
