GMPTEAfter months of renovation, Metrolink in Manchester (UK) will resume its service in the city centre next Monday.

MetrUp

MetrUp With the upcoming version of our file for Warsaw, I updated MetrUp (now in version 1.4.6) to add support for Polish databases.

If you don't know about MetrUp, it is a tool for PalmOS devices that helps you keep your MetrO city databases up to date.

Warsaw

L. Vorberg rebuilt a new version of our database for Warsaw (Poland) since the existing one was quite outdated.

We have taken the opportunity to rename it to Warszawa (the actual city name in Polish) and create a version with the special Polish characters (available only for some devices and under specific conditions, see our web site for details).

Bremen

Our data for Pittsburgh (USA) was getting quite old and new light rail services have opened since our last update.

Portland

With help from P. de Oliveira, I have just discovered that the streetcar route in Portland, OR (USA) has been extended to the south.

Miami

A few stop names have been changed in Miami, FL (USA).

Dallas

I have added the historic streetcar route to our Dallas, TX (USA) database.

Boston

One commuter rail route was missing from our database for Boston, MA (USA) .

Las Vegas

P. de Oliveira noticed that our database for Las Vegas, NV (USA) was missing one tram line.

Braunschweig

L. Freund reports the opening of a new bus route in Braunschweig (Germany), along with a few other minor adjustments.

MetrO is 10 years old!

MetrO for iPhone (iTunes)On October 1st, 1999, MetrO was widely released for the first time, on Palmgear.

At the time, it included a handful of cities and it was available for the few Palm devices that were on the market.

The features and user interface were also rather simple, as you can see from this old screen shot:
