A new station has opened in Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia), extending the single metro route in the city.

Athens

A new station (Agia Paraskevi) has opened on metro line 3 in Athens (Greece).

Shenzhen

Two new metro lines have opened in Shenzhen (China).

Seoul

The A'REX airport railroad in Seoul (Korea) has been extended to the city station, with many new connections to the subway system.

New Year's Eve in Brussels and Paris

Like every year at the same time, we are pleased to anounce the release of MetrO databases for the special New Year's Eve services in Paris (France) and Brussels (Belgium).

Paris: a selection of subway and railway lines will operate after the end of the regular service as well as the "Noctilien" night bus lines (with some changes). All transportation will be free from 5PM on 12/31 to noon on 01/01.

Brussels: the subway, a few trams and most of the "Noctis" night buses will run during the night from 12/31 01/01. All transportation will be free during this time.

The files will also appear in the city list in your MetrO app for iPhone and BlackBerry.

Besides, these services are available on i-MetrO for the WEB, WAP and i-Mode.

These databases have been built in a rush and may contain errors despite my efforts to make them as accurate as possible. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience you may experience.

Beijing

A new subway line (15) has opened in Beijing (China).

Shanghai

A new extension has opened on the Metro line 7 in Shanghai (China), with 6 new stations.

Paris

Y. Dumay noticed a few minor errors on our data for the Transilien (the suburban rail network) in Paris (France). I also removed the lines that are not part of the "official" system anymore (to/from Orléans, Chartres and Compiègne).

Geneva

S. Kasme sent updates for the POIs ("places of interest") of Geneva (Switzerland). Some changes have also been made on the bus network and a new tram route has opened two weeks ago.

Colmar

E. Biellmann prepared un update to our database for Colmar (France), with changes that will affect the bus network next year.

Bursa

An extension, with 3 new stations, has opened on metro line 2 in Bursa (Turkey).

New York (works)

Our special "works" database for New York (USA) has been updated with the latest advisories from the MTA.

New York

J. Pazmino reports the opening of a new connection in the New York (USA) metro, between the A/C/F and N/R lines, at JaySt-MetroTech, which was renamed.

Besides, the works at Beach 90 St and Beach 105 St on line A, which were included in our "regular" file, are ending today.

In addition to the "works" version, our "regular" database has also been updated with the changes.

Kharkiv

A new metro station has opened in Kharkiv (Ukraine). It also gave me an occasion to update a few station names that have changed in recent years.

Berlin (works)

Works between Pankow and Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz on subway line U2 in Berlin (Germany) have now ended.

A new tram line (3) and a "tram-train" route will officially open tomorrow in Mulhouse (France), with minor impacts on a few bus services.

Köln

An extension on Stadtbahn line 5 in Köln/Cologne (Germany) will open tomorrow, with 3 new stations.

Frankfurt am Main

Two new U-Bahn lines (U8 and U9) will open tomorrow in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

Augsburg

A new tram line (6) will open tomorrow in Augsburg (Germany).

The bus network in our database may also be in need of an update but I would need help for this...

Stuttgart

An extension will open tomorrow morning on Stadtbahn line U6 in Stuttgart (Germany). Additional changes will also affect other lines.

Munich

A new extension will open tomorrow on U-Bahn line U3 in Munich/München (Germany), with 2 new stations and a connection with the S-Bahn S1 line at Moosach.

Nuremberg

C. Eyrich reports a change on one bus route (651) in Nuremberg (Germany).

Buenos Aires

A new station (Corrientes) has opened on Subte line H in Buenos Aires (Argentina), making a connection with line B at Pueyrredón.

Hannover

L. Freund reports the extension of Stadtbahn line U7 in Hannover (Germany), with an impact on one of the few bus lines our database contains.

Pirna

K. König sent the data for the transportation network of Pirna (Germany) near Dresden, including tram, bus, ferry and railway routes.

Lausanne

P. Schweizer reports some changes on 2 bus routes in Lausanne (Switzerland).

MetrO for BlackBerry 5.9.2

We are pleased to announce the release of MetrO for BlackBerry 5.9.2, available now from our BlackBerry web page or on the BlackBerry App World.

This new version will (hopefully) make it easier to manage the internet connection required to download city databases (the only time when a connection is needed). After many complaints and requests for support about connection troubles (thanks to RIM's unnecessarily complex network configurations), I think I solved the issue for most users.

Please note that, for reasons I still can't understand, it may be necessary to reset your BlackBerry after installing the new version.
