One year on the AppStore
On July 11th, 2009, MetrO for the iPhone, version 0.9.0, was finally available on the Apple AppStore. One year and 4 versions later, we still are surprised by the success it had and continues to have.
For all it's worth, here are a few stats about this year on the AppStore:
Here is a graph showing the number of daily "first" installations and updates over the past year (click on the image for a larger version):
And the same representation, limited to the French AppStore:
For all it's worth, here are a few stats about this year on the AppStore:
- MetrO has been installed 770,000 times (excluding updates).
- The latest update, as the previous ones, has been installed about 300,000 times (infering that's roughly the number of "actual" users or, at least, people who have it on their phone and take the pain to keep it up to date).
- About half of our users are in France (but many countries are underrespresented because the app is available only in French and English, so far). More details for the top countries (click on the image for a larger version):

Toulon
L. Kieffer sent the data for one bus route in Toulon (France).
It made me realize that we had an existing file for the city (created with L. Collombet), that I had "forgotten" to release before... However, this database contains only a subset of the bus network, mainly the routes between Toulon and Six Fours, La Seyne & Les Mandriers.
