Recife

The "Linha Sul" of the Recife (Brazil) metrô network was extended last week with 5 new stations.

i-MetrO bug

N. Knapp noticed a bug in the address routing feature of i-MetrO that dates back to the latest enhancements I made in February.

It's now fixed and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Paris (works)

Works on line 3 in Paris (France) ended last night. Next week-end, station "St Paul" (line 1) will close and the RER C will be replaced by a bus service between Gennevilliers & Ermont.

MetrO web site

Since it had not changed in more than 10 years (!), I have spent some time updating the design of our web site with a new color theme.

I also made sure it is W3C compliant and compatible with the most popular contemporary browsers.

With the additions made over the years, its organization would also need some work but this will be for later...

Our mobile versions of i-MetrO have had severe problems recently with bad response times. I have not yet entirely understood what has happened but I made a temporary change so that they are usable again.

Bangkok

An anonymous user reported a wrong connection for one POI (Wat Hua Lamphong) in our database for Bangkok (Thailand).

Torino

T. Fusté asked us why our Torino (Italy) database contained bus routes and no tram route and this made me discover that the trams were actually present but wrongly labelled as bus lines.

Brno

F. Kadlec sent a few minor bug fixes for our data for Brno (Czech Republic) as well as a service change for works (on line 30).

Adana

After long de delays, the metro line in Adana (Turkey) finally began operating (on 7 stations) last week.

Lviv

F. Wilhelm sent an update for one of the trolleybus routes in our database for Lviv (Ukraine).

Porto

G. Martins-Coelho reports a change on the B express service of the Porto (Portugal) subway.

Bratislava

P. Absolon reports a minor change on one regional bus line and another on some "regular" bus lines in Bratislava (Slovakia).

Berlin (works)

Tomorrow in Berlin (Germany), tram lines M5, M6 & 16 will be partially replaced by a bus service, for about 3 weeks.

Tomorrow in Paris (France), station "Hôtel de Ville" will reopen on subway line 1, while line 9 station "Trocadéro" and station "Télégraphe" (line 11) will close for a few weeks. Additionally, line 3 will be replaced by a bus service between "Gallieni" & "Père Lachaise" on the coming week-end.

In an unsual but most welcome move, officials at the "Ayuntamiento de Vitoria-Gasteiz" (Basque Country, Spain) sent their data for the future renovated transportation network of the city, due to begin service in June.

Reims

J.-M. Malherbe & G. Masclet sent a major update for Reims (France), which was just too late for making it in our new release, unfortunately.

MetrO 5.7.5

The new release of MetrO is out, with the city changes listed on this blog in the past month as well as minor updates and bug fixes on the software for Windows Mobile and Symbian.

After some delays, the renovated subway station "South Ferry" (line 1) in New York (USA) will finally open on Monday, allowing for a free connection with lines N, R & W at Whitehall St.

L. Freund reported some changes on the bus network in Nürnberg (Germany) and I noticed a minor service change on the subway as well.

Bremen

E. Descheres spotted a few changes that we missed in the past on the tramway network of Bremen (Germany).

Berlin (works)

M. Ciesielski mentioned works in Berlin (Germany) affecting S-Bahn line S47 until the beginning of April. I was not monitoring changes on the S-Bahn but I will try to in the future.

MetrO fo Blackberry (installation)

C. Cao Thai has come up with a method to install MetrO on your BlackBerry from a desktop PC. It might be pretty standard for BB veterans but I have described it on our BlackBerry page for anyone who would want to avoid an OTA ("Over the Air") installation.

Vitoria-Gasteiz

I just discovered that a new tram has entered in service last December in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country, Spain) and built a (small) database for the current single line.

Prague

F. Kadlec reports works on tram lines 22 & 57 in Prague (Czech Republic), planned for about 2 months. He also provided some additions for the POIs (places of interest).

Service on subway line U1 in Berlin (Germany) will be suspended between Kottbusser Tor & Wittenbergplatz from Friday to Sunday, with replacement by the U2 line and a bus service. And more disruptions are planned on the U1 in the coming weeks.

Last week-end, the SMRT in Singapore announced the opening of 2 new stations on the East-West line.

London

The TfL announces that Tube station Blackfriars in London (UK) will close tomorrow for about 1 year and a half. It also looks like DLR station Tower Gateway will reopen soon.
