Paris (works)

Service on the RER C line in Paris (France) is now entirely restored. Works will affect SNCF service between Tournan & Coulommiers next week and the T4 will be replaced by a bus on Wednesday & Thursday evenings.

Berlin (works)

Tomorrow morning in Berlin (Germany), service on subway lines U1 & U2 will be restored and works will affect a new section on line U8 (Hermannplatz - Moritzplatz) on Sunday to Thursday after 22:00.

Grenoble

S. Blanchard sent an update for the bus network of Grenoble (France).

MetrO for PalmOS

B. Mathioudakis completed the Greek translation of MetrO for PalmOS.

Montréal

C. Rainville sent a few updates and additions for our Montréal (Canada) database.

Shanghai

It's probably an effect of the law of series: I received yet another update for the subway network of Shanghai (China), from P. Karger.

Phoenix, AZ

A new light rail will open in Phoenix, AZ (USA) at the end of the year. I created a small database for the city, with a number of places of interest.

Warsaw

The subway line in Warsaw (Poland) has been extended last week with 3 new stations.

Braunschweig

L. Freund sent a few additional fixes and updates for our database for Braunschweig (Germany), after the previous overhaul.

Berlin (works)

Service on subway line U2 in Berlin (Germany) will be replaced by a shuttle bus between Alexanderplatz & Spittelmarkt from tomorrow morning to Friday morning.

Lausanne

The new automatic subway line in Lausanne (Switzerland) will begin its service tomorrow morning. However, the bus network overhaul, which has been prepared for us by Greg back in June, will not be operational before mid December.

As every Friday, I have been trying to build a New York (USA) database including the MTA advisories for next week. However, the MTA web site has suddenly stopped responding... I'm sorry but the update will have to wait until tomorrow morning (Paris time).

Bordeaux

V. Lavedan informed me that tram line B in Bordeaux (France) has been extended this week.

Paris (works)

In Paris (France), subway line 3 will not run between Opéra & République during the coming week-end and station George V (line 1) will be closed on Wednesday evening.

Humberto sent data for the bus network running around the central campus of the UNAM, the main university in Mexico City (Mexico).

I have been warned of major changes in Valencia (Spain) but, unfortunately, without any detailed data. I have taken care of a new tram line but it appears the bus network needs a complete rewrite and, with updates in so many city at this time of the year, I can't spend the time to do it myself...

Mexico City

Tests have begun on 2 new stations of the suburban railway line in Mexico City (Mexico). Although they are not entirely operational, I have updated our database.

Bratislava

Our database for Bratislava (Slovakia) was getting old, so P. Absolon sent a completely new version...

Wien/Vienna

D. Howarth alerts us about changes on tram lines 1 & 2 in Wien/Vienna (Austria), that will occur at the end of the month.

Paris (bus)

Two bus lines (58 & 82) in Paris (France) have had their routes slightly changed at the beginning of October.

Košice

P. Absolon reports the closing of one bus stop in Košice (Slovakia).

London

Following my previous post about the London (England) subway network, I have decided to ignore the alerts about the limited interchange at Bank & Monument stations (many users report interchange is actually possible, although not always straightforward).

Shanghai

It appears one subway line in Shanghai (China) has been significantly extended a long time ago (2 years?). Z. Zhou finally sent us an alert about the fact!

London

Station Shepherd's Bush (Central line) in London (England) has reopened but it looks like a lot more changes are required on our database:
- Station Wood Lane opened on the Hammersmith & City line;
- Station Shepherd's Bush on the Hammersmith & City line has been renamed to Shepherd's Bush Market;
- Station Tower Gateway on the DLR is closed until April 2009;
- No interchange is possible at Bank & Monument except between the DLR and the Northern line.

I still have some doubts about the Wood Lane opening and the extent of the interchange limitations at Bank & Monument (do they mean between Bank & Monument or all interchanges?): if someone could provide details, I would be able to publish new files without risking making big mistakes. Thanks in advance!

Prague

F. Kadlek reports the opening of a new tram section in Prague (Czech Republic), leading to some changes on a few lines.

i-MetrO unvailable

Because of a deployment error last night, i-MetrO has been unavailable for a few hours. It is now running again and I will try to be extra-careful next time...

Tomorrow morning in Paris (France), part of the disruptions on line RER C will end but station Tuileries (line 1) will close next week-end, works will affect line T4 (on Wednesday & Thursday evenings), line RER A to Cergy and Poissy (on weekdays evenings).

J. Abbate provided data for an additional local bus line in Los Angeles (USA), giving access to the Bob Hope airport in Burbank.

Krefeld

I entirely rewrote our database for Krefeld (Germany), which was seriously outdated.

Ulaanbaator

R. Budzul reported an error on the russian version of our database for Ulaanbaator (Mongolia), due to an incorrect encoding.

Baku

A new subway station opened in Baku (Azerbaijan) and it was an occasion to clean-up our database (which still only contains 2 subway lines).

Monterrey

Subway line 2 in Monterrey (Mexico) has been extended with 4 new stations.

Kapsys chooses MetrO for its new GPS

Kapsys has unveiled its new device, the Kapten, a small and light stand-alone GPS mainly targeting pedestrians, cyclists and other urban users, entirely controlled by voice commands.

Thanks to our MetrO technology, the Kapten becomes the first GPS device offering multi-modal guiding and navigation, combining car, bike, walk, roller, subway...

Barcelona

E. Loureiro informed us of a recent extension on the green line in the Barcelona (Spain) subway network.

MetrO 5.7.1

The new release of MetrO is out, with major updates on many cities and some fixes on the Symbian & Windows Mobile versions of the program.
