Paris

The SNCF has finally released some details about the recent changes on the suburban rail network (RER & Transilien service to Ermont-Eaubonne) in Paris (France).

Brest

There are minor changes on the bus network in Brest (France), including the end of the summer service to the beaches ("Bus des Plages").

Völklingen

M. Kaiser sent the data for the bus network in Völklingen (Germany), a city close to Saarbrücken (which might be next on the agenda).

Manila

P. Pantaleon let me add 2 bus lines to our database for Manila (Philippines).

Madrid

Enrique informed me that the works on lines 1, 6 and 10 in Madrid (Spain) are finished and their service is restored. Since this represent an important update to our database, you may download it right no, either here or through our usual online update services.

Other changes are planned on September 1st and 9th. Come back here for fresh news.

London

N.P.G. Smith signaled that the Thameslink service in London (England) has been taken over by a new company (First Capital Connect) and the old names tend to disappear.

I also discovered that the same company now operates the Great Northern line and that another company (ONE) operates the West Anglia & Great Eastern lines.

Colmar

E. Biellmann provided the information for the bus network in Colmar (France).

Paris (works)

The summer works are coming to an end in the Paris (France) subway. Download the updated "temporary" files:

Guangzhou

L. Freund sent notice about 2 stations having changed their names on the Guangzhou (China) subway line 4.

Berlin

M. Ciesielski reports some works in the Berlin (Germany) subway, affecting services on lines U1, U2 and U3 (plus a new temporary U12 line).

Morges

A new line will open next week in Morges (Switzerland). C. Chervet provided the information.

Istanbul

V. Minas noticed that our database for Istanbul (Turkey) was missing a recently opened funicular/subway line. An extension on the tram line was also required...

Eindhoven

D. Maas provided the complete bus network for Eindhoven (Netherlands) along with some railway lines.

Santiago

M. Toledo reports the opening of a new subway line in Santiago (Chile): line 4A, creating a link between lines 2 & 4.

Icon change

Recently, I have had a few strong reactions to the tiny "bomb" icon that denotes an obsolete file in the city list in the MetrO program. Although I think this is quite exagerated, I will replace this icon with an exclamation mark in future releases.

Just for the record, I created the image after the (in)famous bomb I got so often on startup in the old days when I worked on a MacOS system...

New York

A.H. Li sent a notice about some important changes on the PATH rail system in New York (USA) as well as temporary changes (for works) in the subway.

Given the nature of the updates, I have released an intermediate file. You may get it here or through our usual "live" update services.

The closed station are simply marked as "closed" in this file. I may try to do better in the near future... Another update should come on September 18th at the latest (with the reopening of one station).

Oslo

A new subway section will open in Oslo (Norway) on August 20th and it will impact many bus services as well.

A. Norling, who reported the change, also provided a few additional bus lines and our database now contains almost all the transport systems in the city (the remaining bus lines are express lines or operate only on peak hours).

No news?

You may have noticed that there has been little news from MetrO these days.

Although it is holiday time for most people (at least here in France), I am actually very busy (with my job) and I don't have any free time left, even during the week-ends...

This situation may last a few more weeks but I will try to keep up with the most urgent updates. I hope I will be able to post some news about our files for New York, Oslo and maybe Manila before tonight.

i-MetrO server down (and up again 1 hour later ;-)

The i-MetrO service is currently unavailable because of (yet) unidentified problems on the server. We are currently investigating the issue and will do our best to have it running again as soon as possible.
