After our recent update about London (England), R. Cox mentioned another change: the Silverlink network is now part of "London Overground". I entirely redesigned our data about these lines.

Long time, no post...

Just a word to explain why this blog has been silent for a week: it is not because there is nothing new in the public transportation world but only because I have too much work :-(

I will try to catch up with my mailbox during the week-end.

Berlin (works)

M. Ciesielski sent a notice about the works on line U7 in Berlin (Germany) taking longer than planned and normal service will be restored only on February 29.

London

I have just discovered that the East London Line in London (England) is closed until 2010. You may download an interim update here or through our usual online update services.

Paris (works)

Disruptions on line T4 in Paris (France) ended last night. Download the updated "temporary" file: Paris-travaux (complete rail network, the "full" version is not impacted)

Next update planned on (or around) March 10 at the latest.

Erfurt

U. Meinecke prepared a data file for the Stadtbahn & Bus network in Erfurt (Germany).

Berlin

N. Knapp noticed that I made an error in our latest update for Berlin (Germany). More specifically, the operating times for the N3 night bus are wrong.

Lisboa

There have been some changes recently on the Transtejo (river) services in Lisboa/Lisbon (Portugal).

Paris (works)

In Paris (France), station "Commerce" is closed for works and line T4 will be closed at 9PM on Wednesday & Thursday. Download the updated "temporary" files:

• Paris-travaux (complete rail network)
  
• Paris-full-travaux (inner city subway, bus and RER networks). To use this one on a Palm device, you must get a recent version (5.6.0 or later) of the program and directly install the file on a memory card.
  

Next update planned on (or around) January 17.

MetrO 5.6.4

The new version of MetrO is available, with:

• Minor changes on the program (Windows Mobile & Symbian versions);
• 2 new cities: Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), Le Mans (France);
• Important updates on the Berlin, Morges, Newcastle upon Tyne, Nice, Padova, Shanghai, Stockholm networks;
• Minor evolutions on many other cities.

Busan

Subway line 2 in Busan (Korea) has been extended with 4 more stops (although I can't be sure they have all opened yet).

Padova

T. d'Angelo sent an update for the tram & bus network in Padova (Italy).

Stuttgart

A. Albrecht sent various adjustments & additions for our database for Stuttgart (Germany), including a bus line and a few POIs.

Budapest

L. Freund reported a few errors on the connections between lines in our database for Budapest (Hungary). He also provided additional POIs.

Berlin

While on a trip in Berlin (Germany), N. Knapp missed night services in our database and decided to add the night bus lines replacing the subway lines when they are closed.

L. Freund sent an update for some bus services in Braunschweig (Germany).

Toulouse

M. Dulerm submitted a new shuttle bus line to add to our database for Toulouse (France).

Stuttgart

There are changes - again - on line U15 in Stuttgart (Germany).

Tomorrow morning in Paris (France), normal service will be restored on subway line 13 and station "Pont Marie" will close for renovation works. Download the updated "temporary" files:

Happy New Year!

2008 promises to be challenging for MetrO, with a lot of work on the horizon:

• The Symbian UIQ 3 version which so far proves to be difficult to deliver;
  
• The BlackBerry version that many of you are still waiting for;
• The iPhone version that may become possible, depending on what Apple delivers as an SDK;
• An easier way to contribute transportation network data, that would allow us to get more time for development instead of sweating over the data maintenance.
