New York (works)

The special "works" version of our New York (USA) database now includes the MTA advisories for the week.

Download the new database here or with our online update services.

Next update planned on or around January 26. If you're wondering about the dual updates I release for each "weekly" advisories, the reason is simple: there are so many disruptions that our database format cannot handle all the additional data for the whole period. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. The program is very good. I am a New Yorker. I tried my regular commute to work - Sheepshead Bay (Brooklyn) to City Hall (Manhattan). What is missing is the best way to make this route. Your old program indicated transfer from B train @ DeKalb Ave to R train. The new version misses it. If I listen to your program, then I would be walking a long way from B to 4 or 5 against the crowd, then jump into 4 and 5 with a crowd of LIRR folks. Not the best route. But, nonetheless, it is a great program. Thanks.

  2. You wrote "Your old program indicated transfer from B train @ DeKalb Ave to R train. The new version misses it". I can assure you there is no difference between any "old" and "new" version.

Most likely, in the "old" version you searched for a route to the "City Hall" stop on line N/R (whose complete name is "City Hall, Broadway") wheras in the "new" version, you used the "City Hall" place of interest. If you enter the complete stop name, you'll see the program still suggests taking the R.

However, I found an error in that the place of interest was not connected to the stop on line N/R. But this does not change the fact that line 4/5 is quicker, according to the MTA timetables.
