If you don't know it yet, Layar is an Android application (available on the Android Market) that display various types of information (Flicker photos, restaurants, real estate prices...) in augmented reality - i.e. as text and graphics shown over a picture of your environment.
Each source of information is created as a "layer" and I built one for the Paris subway stations:

You may find it with a search within Layar, with the keyword "metro".
The information provided is not quite rich (only the station names) but I may improve that if I find the time and if it is helpful to anyone (I tend to consider this as a gadget...)
Also note that versions of Layar are planned for other mobile systems and one for the iPhone should be available soon.
Patrice, Great to know about i-MetrO for Layar while I'm waiting for MetrO for Android. Hopefully I can test it out in Paris in 2010.
ReplyDeletePatrice- I also eagerly await Metro for Android...
ReplyDeleteI have happily recommended Metro to all of my NY friends & wish that layar had maps for NYC
